Hey everyone, I'm planning a trip to Vegas and The Sun is on the itinerary. I've heard mixed things about it, so I was hoping some locals could give me some advice. Is the casino floor the main draw, or are the restaurants and pool areas equally good? I'm not a hardcore gambler, so I'm more interested in having a fun, relaxed day. Any tips on navigating the property, or maybe the best time to go to avoid the biggest crowds? Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Definitely focus on the pool. The Sun has a great vibe, especially during the day. Skip the casino floor unless you feel like a quick bet.

I recommend going mid-afternoon. The morning is usually when the biggest groups arrive, and the evenings get crazy. You'll get a much more relaxed feel.

For food, check out the casual spots near the main promenade. They have great views and aren't as overwhelming as the fine dining places. I found a fantastic taco spot that was perfect for a low-key lunch.

The pool area is the main draw for non-gamblers. Book a cabana early if you want guaranteed space, or just find a lounge chair away from the high-traffic areas.

Seriously, check out the local shops and the art installations. It's much more than just a casino. It feels like a real destination, not just a gambling pit.

Totally agree about the pool. Also, wear comfortable shoes. You'll end up walking way more than you expect, even if you're just window shopping.

If you're looking for something unique, try checking out the local entertainment schedule. They often have free street performers or music sessions that are really fun and low-stress.

I think the restaurants are equally good, but you have to pick your poison. If you want ambiance, go for the Italian place. If you want quick and casual, the bistro is better.

Oh, are you worried about the crowds? Try going right when they open, like 10 am. You'll beat the rush and get to enjoy the facilities before the big crowds descend.

I found the property navigation confusing at first. Use the main concourse map they give you; it really helps you visualize where everything is located.

Don't worry about the casino floor. Just wander through the themed sections. They are designed to be visually interesting even if you aren't betting a dime.

The best time is definitely late afternoon, around 3-5 pm. The sun is out, the crowds are thinning out from lunch, and the dinner rush hasn't started yet. It's perfect for a relaxed stroll.

The pool is great, but if you want a more 'local' feel, try taking a walk down the adjacent street. You'll see some non-casino life and it's a nice change of pace.

I think the biggest draw is the sheer scale of it. It's fun just to wander and take in the architecture. Don't feel pressured to 'do' anything specific.

To answer your question directly: the pool and the dining areas are your focus. The casino is background noise for a relaxed day.

If you're going for a fun day, grab a cocktail at one of the outdoor bars. They usually have good happy hour specials and the view is unbeatable. It's a perfect way to spend a few hours without committing to a full dinner.

I agree with the 'mid-afternoon' suggestion. Also, remember to drink tons of water. Vegas heat is no joke, even if you're just lounging by the pool.

Just relax. Treat it like a giant, fancy resort. Find a spot with a good view, read a book, and enjoy the atmosphere. That's half the fun of Vegas.
