I'm trying to plan a trip to the area and I keep seeing references to the Red Dog Casino, but I'm having trouble confirming its exact location. I remember hearing it was in a specific state, but my notes are a bit messy. Could someone confirm if it's still operating and, more importantly, what the best directions are to get there? I want to make sure I don't waste time driving to an old or incorrect address. Any recent visitor experiences or links would be greatly appreciated!

It's in Chihuahua, Mexico. Don't get confused with anything else!

I was there last year, and it was great. The location is definitely in the town of Red Dog, Chihuahua. Just make sure you check the local Mexican travel sites for the most up-to-date driving directions, as things change quickly.

Super short answer: It's Chihuahua, Mexico. Seriously, don't waste your time looking in the US.

I remember seeing old articles suggesting it might be closed or moved, which was confusing. But I visited about six months ago, and it was fully operational. The best way to get there is probably flying into Chihuahua City International Airport and then hiring a taxi or renting a car for the drive to the town.

Is it really that far out? I was hoping for something closer to the border crossing we were planning.

Reply to the user above: Yes, it is a bit of a drive, but it's worth it. The town itself is very unique, and the casino is the main attraction. I recommend booking accommodation in the town center to make the logistics easier.

I found a link to a recent travel blog that confirms the location and gives some driving estimates from the main highway. It looks pretty reliable. Hope this helps you plan!

Just confirming what others said - Chihuahua, Mexico. I had trouble finding accurate maps myself because the area is rural. Use Google Maps but cross-reference it with a local guide if possible.

Does anyone know if they have shuttle services from the main airport? Driving yourself seems like a lot of hassle for just a day trip.

Reply to the shuttle question: I don't think there are regular shuttles, but the hotel concierge in Chihuahua City might be able to arrange a private transfer for you. That was much easier than trying to navigate the local bus system.

Check out the official state tourism board website for Chihuahua. They usually have the most current operational details and sometimes even partnership links for local transport.

It's definitely a destination trip. Don't just plan for the casino; the architecture and the local culture are part of the fun. Bring plenty of cash, as card acceptance can be spotty outside the main casino area.

I heard it was temporarily closed for renovations a few years ago, so please verify its current status before booking anything. It's a beautiful place, but the operational status is key!

My advice: Book your hotel in advance. The smaller the town, the faster it fills up, especially during peak travel seasons. And remember to check the local currency requirements!
