I've been playing Welt Online for about three months now, and I'm really enjoying the world, but I'm struggling with my current build. I'm playing a DPS class, but I feel like my damage output drops significantly during late-game raids. I've watched several YouTube guides, but they all seem outdated or geared towards specific end-game content. Does anyone have advice on whether I should focus more on gear stats, or if there are specific skill rotations I am missing? Any tips on optimizing my resource management would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, gear stats matter, but only up to a point. Focus on the right *type* of stat. For DPS, critical hit chance and attack speed are usually better investments than raw damage numbers if you are struggling with consistency. Don't just chase the highest number on the piece.

You are probably missing a key synergy between your primary damage skill and your resource generation skill. Most people focus solely on maximizing DPS output, but in raids, sustained damage is key. I recommend mapping out your rotation on paper, treating your resource gain as a resource itself. You need to weave your cooldowns into the resource cycle, not just use them when they are available. Also, look into optimizing your positioning within the raid group, as sometimes the best 'build' is just knowing where to stand to maximize uptime on adds or boss mechanics. This requires practice and observation, not just theory-crafting.

The issue might not be your build, but the raid mechanics themselves. Sometimes, the optimal strategy is to intentionally 'waste' some damage to manage a specific debuff or interrupt a critical enemy ability. Theory-crafting is great, but real-world application requires adaptability. I spent hours optimizing my build only to realize the raid boss required a specific group coordination that negated my entire damage output plan. Always observe the raid leaders and adapt your plan accordingly. Also, check if there are any current patches that have fundamentally changed the optimal resource curve for your class.

I think you're overthinking the resource management. If your gear is already optimized, the biggest drop usually comes from poor execution of the core damage loop. Focus on minimizing downtime between your major abilities. If you are constantly waiting for a cooldown, that is where the damage loss is happening.

When I started, I thought it was just raw stats, too. But after realizing that the best builds are often highly dependent on the specific raid group composition, I had to completely rethink my approach. I learned that sometimes sacrificing a little personal DPS to ensure the group's overall success (like maintaining a critical debuff on a tank) actually results in a higher overall damage contribution. It's a shift from 'my optimization' to 'group optimization.' It takes time to internalize that mindset.

Exactly. It's not just about the big flashy damage skills. If you are failing to refresh a crucial buff or if you are letting your resource pool dip too low, the damage drop is inevitable. You need to treat resource generation as a proactive part of your rotation, not just something that happens automatically.

The problem is often the assumption that a single 'best' build exists. Welt Online is designed to reward experimentation. You might need to hybridize two different builds that excel in different phases of the raid. For instance, using a burst-focused setup for the initial phase, and then switching to a sustained, resource-efficient setup for the final, drawn-out phase. This requires deep knowledge of your class's mechanics and the raid's pacing. Don't just follow one guide blindly; use them as a starting point for understanding the core mechanics.
