I've been accumulating Leonardo points for months now, but I'm having trouble figuring out the most efficient way to spend them. I've read some things online about combining points with specific promotions, but I'm not sure if that's accurate. Is it better to wait for a major sale event, or should I use the points immediately on smaller purchases to keep them active? Also, does the reward value change depending on the department I use the points in? Any advice from people who have successfully redeemed large amounts of points would be greatly appreciated!

I found a good balance works best. Don't hoard them forever, but also don't spend them just because they are available. Check the point decay schedule and aim for a medium-sized purchase when you know a promotion is coming up, but not so soon that the points lose value.

The value seems highest in the 'Home Goods' department. I noticed a 15% discount applied to points there, which was better than the standard 10% across other areas.

Regarding combining points and promotions, I found that the system usually prioritizes the higher discount first. So, if a sale offers 20% off and you use points for 10% off, you usually get the stacked discount. Always read the fine print on the promotion rules.

My biggest success was waiting for the annual 'Summer Clearance' event. I saved almost 5,000 points and used them all in one go, combined with a massive site-wide sale. It felt like getting 40% off everything. Seriously, patience pays off here.

Watch your expiration dates! They are sneaky. Set a calendar reminder for when your points are due to expire so you don't waste them.

I disagree with waiting for the big sales. Sometimes the small, immediate purchases are better because they keep your account active and prevent point decay. Plus, you get the item you need right away, which is valuable in itself.

The reward value definitely changes. It's not just the department, but the *type* of item. Electronics and large appliances often have a fixed point value, but clothing and beauty items frequently offer bonus points per dollar spent, making them much more efficient to use.

Just use them! If you have enough points for something you genuinely want, buy it. Don't let them sit there collecting dust.

I think waiting is risky. I saved up for months for a major sale, only to find out that the points I used were ineligible for the sale discounts. It was frustrating. Using them gradually is much safer.

To summarize: 1. Check the fine print on promotions. 2. Use points on high-bonus departments (like beauty). 3. Never let them expire. 4. Don't rely solely on major sales; mix in smaller, necessary purchases to keep the balance high and active.

Do the points reset their value if I use them across multiple different point categories (e.g., using 100 points from 'A' and 100 points from 'B')?

If you are using them on multiple categories, make sure to check the point redemption rate for each one. Sometimes combining points from two different sources can trigger a higher overall discount than using them individually.

Overall, the best strategy is diversification. Use points when you need something, and save them when a major sale is imminent. Treat them like currency, not just a bonus.
