I've finally started working on the TI Treasure Island module, but I'm completely lost regarding the optimal path. I read a few guides, but they all seem to contradict each other about whether I should focus on the jungle ruins first or the sunken wreck. I'm worried I'm wasting time if I go in the wrong direction. For those who have completed it, what was your strategy? Any tips on which characters or items are most useful early on would be greatly appreciated. I really want to make sure I maximize my chances of finding the main treasure without getting bogged down in side puzzles.

Definitely start with the jungle ruins. The initial puzzles there unlock key map pieces you need for the wreck anyway.

I found the sunken wreck first, and it was surprisingly straightforward. Focus on the deep-sea artifacts, they give a massive early boost to your inventory.

Don't worry about getting bogged down. The side puzzles are actually designed to teach you mechanics you need for the main treasure. Just take it slow and document everything you find.

Short answer: Jungle. The initial character interaction is crucial. Don't skip the local NPCs.

I disagree. The wreck is a time sink if you don't have the right diving gear. I recommend spending your first few hours gathering basic supplies in the jungle first.

The most useful early item is the 'Telescopic Compass.' It helps you locate hidden paths in both areas, saving you hours of guesswork.

Hey, @User456, I think you're overthinking the difficulty. The wreck puzzles are actually linear if you follow the tide patterns. Just observe the water flow, and it becomes obvious.

I spent hours trying to force the jungle puzzles, and I was wasting time. Just head straight to the wreck. The main clue is waiting for you there.

My strategy was to ignore both initially and focus solely on the map fragments scattered across the main island. Once you have the full map, the path becomes clear, regardless of where you started.

Agreed with the jungle start. Also, make sure you have the 'Explorer' character. Their passive skill boosts puzzle solving dramatically.

The side puzzles aren't just distractions. They often contain unique lore entries that are required to understand the final puzzle sequence. Treat them as mandatory reading.

If you are worried about time, prioritize finding the three ancient idols. They are the true keys, and they are located in different zones, making the start point less critical.

The wreck is fine, but only if you have the 'Diving Boots' upgrade. Without them, you'll spend too much time fighting currents and getting lost in the deep.

I found that the best approach was a hybrid one. Spend half a day in the jungle to get basic gear, and the other half exploring the wreck for the first major clue. Balance is key.

Don't waste time on the jungle ruins first. The initial puzzle is a red herring. Head straight to the western coast and look for the hidden tidal cave entrance. That's where the real action starts.

To reply to the 'Explorer' comment: While the character is helpful, the *item* 'Sunken Sextant' is far more valuable. It bypasses the need for the first two puzzles entirely.

Just focus on collecting local flora and fauna samples. The quest isn't about the treasure initially; it's about cataloging the island's biodiversity. The treasure is just the reward for doing that.

Seriously, just go to the wreck. It's more direct. The jungle is full of misleading paths and optional side quests that will just make you frustrated.
