I'm planning a trip to the city next month and I booked a stay at Hotel 96. I remember reading reviews a few years ago that the rooftop pool was a major highlight, but I'm worried the amenities might have changed. Has anyone stayed there recently and can confirm if the pool is operational? Also, I'm curious about the breakfast options; are they still buffet style, or has the hotel switched to a more limited service? Any insider tips on navigating the hotel would be greatly appreciated.

The pool is definitely running! It was great last month. Don't worry about the amenities changing.

I stayed about six months ago. The pool area was beautiful, but I can't speak to the current status. I did notice the breakfast options seemed slightly more curated than a full buffet, focusing on local pastries.

Short answer: Yes, the pool is open. It's a huge bonus for a city trip.

I had a very different experience last spring. The rooftop pool was gorgeous, but they did seem to limit the breakfast options quite a bit. It was more of a continental spread than the massive buffet I remember from years ago. Maybe check their website for the most recent menu details.

Does anyone know if the pool hours change much depending on the season? I'm worried about timing my visit.

Re: The pool hours - I found that they close earlier in the winter. If you are going next month, definitely call ahead to confirm the exact closing time, especially if you plan on using it late afternoon.

Honestly, the hotel staff were super helpful navigating the building. It's massive, but they make it easy. Regarding breakfast, I found the limited service actually quite nice - less overwhelming than a huge buffet. I recommend trying the local coffee shop downstairs instead for a different vibe.

I agree with the limited service breakfast idea. It felt more upscale and less chaotic. The pool was a highlight, though, and the view from the rooftop is unbeatable.

Just to confirm, when I visited last fall, the pool was operational and the staff seemed very attentive. It was a solid experience overall. I'd book it again.

I'm going next month too. Has anyone managed to get a good deal on the room rates? I'm trying to budget for the stay, and the amenities are secondary to the price point right now.
