I'm planning a trip to Vegas next month and staying at The Excalibur. I've seen some mixed reviews online, particularly regarding the pool area and the dining options. Has anyone stayed there in the last few months and could share their honest experience? Specifically, I'm wondering about the value of the resort fee and if the room size is adequate for a family of four. Any advice on which restaurants are worth the splurge, or if there are better alternatives nearby, would be greatly appreciated.

The pool is okay, but don't expect luxury.

For a family of four, the standard room is tight. Seriously, book a suite if you can afford it. It makes a huge difference, especially when you're dragging luggage and kids around all day. We found the adjoining rooms were much better value than trying to cram everyone into one space. Also, check out the deals at the nearby properties if the Excalibur room rate is too high.

Skip the resort fee. Stay at Luxor instead.

I recommend the buffet at the Excalibur. It's reliable and budget-friendly.

The dining options are hit or miss. If you want a splurge, try the restaurant in the adjacent property, it's much better. For casual, the poolside grill is fine.

Resort fee is mandatory. Just factor it into your budget.

The pool area is fine for a quick dip, but it gets incredibly crowded. Go early in the morning or late at night to avoid the worst of the crowds. Bring your own towels, they sometimes run out.

Are you worried about the room size? I stayed there last month and it was perfectly adequate for two adults and a couple of suitcases. It's functional, nothing more.

Totally agree. The room size is fine, but the value proposition is questionable unless you are booking a package deal that includes shows.

I found the Excalibur to be a solid, reliable choice. It's not fancy, but it gets the job done for a fun, affordable Vegas trip. The staff were surprisingly helpful when we needed directions to the convention center.

The Excalibur is okay. It's a bit dated, honestly. We spent most of our time walking around the Strip rather than enjoying the hotel itself.

Regarding the dining, if you are looking for a real splurge, walk across the street to the Cosmopolitan. The food quality and ambiance there are miles ahead of anything Excalibur offers. It's worth the extra walk.

The pool is fine for kids, but the seating area is limited. Bring a portable chair if you want guaranteed space.

Don't worry about the resort fee too much. It's just a cost of doing business in Vegas. Just remember to budget for it when you calculate your total nightly rate.

If you are worried about the room size for a family, call the hotel directly and ask for a specific layout diagram. Sometimes they can show you the difference between a standard king and a suite layout. It helps manage expectations.

The Excalibur is great for first-timers who want a classic Vegas feel without breaking the bank. The sheer size of the property makes it fun to explore, even if some areas feel a little worn down.
