My neighbor recommended pool 247 for our annual chemical balancing and filter cleaning. We've had a few different companies in the past, and I'm really worried about getting a poor job done this year. Specifically, I'm wondering if they handle the pH and alkalinity levels correctly, or if I need to supplement anything myself. Has anyone used their services recently and been happy with the results? Any tips on what I should ask them to check for, besides just the basic readings, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I used them last month. They were thorough. My pH was perfect, and the water looked crystal clear right away. Highly recommend.

Be careful about just trusting basic readings. When you call them, specifically ask them to check the total alkalinity and the calcium hardness. Sometimes they miss these nuances, and it makes a huge difference in how fast your equipment corrodes over time. Also, ask what their recommended maintenance schedule is for the next three months. It's better to know the whole picture, not just the immediate fix.

Short answer: Yes, they're reliable. My pool has always been balanced since they handled it.

I had a terrible experience with them. They rushed the job, and my chlorine levels spiked way too high, which irritated my eyes for days. I had to call a different company the next week just to bring it back down to a safe range. Maybe try getting a second opinion before committing.

Is_reply: true. @User_A, I totally agree about checking the hardness. Also, make sure they test the cyanuric acid levels. If that's low, your chlorine won't last long enough, no matter how good the balancing is. It's a crucial step people forget.

They were great. They even gave me a written report detailing everything they checked, which was super helpful for my records. It made me feel much more confident about the process.

I think you need to look at the filter media too. Don't just focus on the water chemistry. Ask them if they recommend a specific cleaning cycle for the filter cartridges, especially if you have a lot of debris or high mineral content. It prevents scaling issues down the line.

I used them last year, and it was fine, but I found the pricing a little steep for what it was. I ended up doing most of the routine balancing myself after they got the initial setup right. It saves a lot of money.

Is_reply: true. @User_B, I'd add that when they check the pH, they should also test for total dissolved solids (TDS). High TDS can indicate issues with your plumbing or overall system efficiency, and it's a sign that needs professional attention beyond just adding chemicals.

My biggest tip is to take pictures of the test results before and after. It's great documentation if you ever need to argue with an insurance company or if the balance seems off a few weeks later. Good luck with the service!
