My partner and I are planning our first trip to the Quad Resort next month for a long weekend. We've heard great things about both the casino floor and the spa, but we aren't sure how to balance our activities. Should we spend most of our time gambling, or is it better to focus on the non-gaming amenities like the pool and dining? We're looking for advice on a good itinerary that gives us a mix of fun, relaxation, and maybe some moderate gaming. Any tips on booking packages or avoiding the biggest crowds would be hugely appreciated!

Focus on the dining and spa first. It sets a great, relaxed tone for the whole weekend, and you'll be more inclined to enjoy the casino later.

Definitely book a package that includes a resort credit. It gives you flexibility to try the pool, eat out, and maybe cover a few hours at the tables without worrying about budgeting every single thing.

I think you need to dedicate a full day just to the non-gaming stuff. If you try to cram everything in, you'll feel rushed and burn out. The pool area and the fancy restaurants are amazing for just chilling out and people-watching. You can save the moderate gaming for the last evening when you're already relaxed.

Try the high roller lounge early on Saturday night. It's less chaotic than the main floor, and the service is top-notch. It's a good balance of moderate gaming and upscale ambiance.

Don't forget to check out the local attractions nearby. Sometimes maximizing the trip means leaving the resort grounds for a few hours to explore the city center. It's a nice break from the casino buzz.

I disagree with prioritizing the spa so early. While relaxing is great, if you wait until the second day, you'll be more refreshed and able to fully enjoy the treatment. Also, the pool is fantastic in the mornings when it's less crowded.

Morning pool time and afternoon spa treatments are the perfect combo. It keeps the pace slow and luxurious. For gaming, maybe allocate a specific 'fun money' budget for the last night so you don't feel pressured to gamble all the time.

The best tip is to make reservations for everything. Dining, spa, and even the pool cabanas. If you plan ahead, you save hours of waiting and stress.

Seriously, if you are going to gamble, stick to one type of game, like blackjack or slots, for a few hours. Don't jump around the floor, or you'll lose your focus and your money quickly. It's about controlled fun, not marathon sessions.

To jump on the previous point about packages, I found that booking a stay that includes breakfast and a resort credit was the most cost-effective way to maximize our time. It allowed us to eat at three different restaurants and still have funds left over for a nice round of poker.
