I'm planning to spend a lot of time at the casino next week and I'm worried about the drink situation. I've noticed some places use these disposable plastic cups, and others use proper glassware, and I'm not sure which is better for keeping drinks cold or for the overall vibe. Does anyone have advice on whether I should bring my own reusable cups or if I should just accept what the house provides? Also, is there a specific etiquette I should know about when getting drinks while playing? Thanks in advance for any tips!

Stick to the glassware if you can. It just feels more upscale and generally keeps things colder than the cheap plastic stuff.

Regarding etiquette, never distract the dealer or the pit boss while you are actively playing. When you need a drink refill, take a quick break, signal a nearby attendant, and keep the conversation brief. It shows respect for the game and the staff.

I wouldn't recommend bringing your own cups. Most casinos have policies against outside items, and even if they allow it, it's a hassle when you're trying to focus on the games. Just accept what they provide.

Glassware is always better.

For keeping drinks cold, the material matters more than the cup itself. A proper glass tumbler with a good coaster or a metal straw setup will do better than flimsy plastic, regardless of the casino's choice. Also, always order a non-alcoholic option if you are sensitive to sugar or mixers.

You're right, but the risk of them confiscating your cups is too high. It's better to just manage expectations and accept the provided service. It's not worth the argument.

The service is usually fine, but always ask for a specific drink name rather than just 'a beer' or 'a cocktail.' It helps the bartender and ensures you get what you want.

When you are deep into a session, try to pace your drinks with your play. Don't let the alcohol affect your judgment or your ability to read the table. Take breaks, hydrate with water, and only order drinks when you are genuinely taking a breather. This is key to having fun and staying safe.

I agree with the pacing advice. Taking a five-minute break every hour to walk around, get a refill, and stretch out makes a huge difference in how you feel by the end of the night.

Glassware is much more durable and feels more substantial. Plastic cups always feel flimsy and make the whole atmosphere feel cheap.

Just bring a small, portable water bottle for when you aren't drinking alcohol.

I found the glassware to be fine, but the plastic cups were fine too. It really depends on the specific casino. Some are much better at providing service than others, regardless of the cup material.

Overall, don't stress too much about the cup material. Focus instead on your hydration and your game strategy. If you are having a great time, the cup material will hardly matter. Enjoy the atmosphere and the company.

Always ask the attendant if they have a reusable cup program. Some high-end resorts are starting to implement those, which is great for the environment and the vibe.
