I'm planning a trip to Hollywood and have booked a stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. I'm a bit worried about transportation, especially since I want to explore both the local beaches and some of the nearby attractions. Could those who have stayed there give me some advice on parking? Also, is it better to rely on ride-sharing services like Uber, or are there reliable local bus routes that connect the hotel to other major points of interest? I'd appreciate any tips on minimizing travel stress and finding the most cost-effective options for a week-long stay.

Uber is your best bet. Parking is a nightmare and expensive.

For a week, I'd recommend a mix. Use buses for beach hops, but rely on ride-share for the major attractions like Griffith Observatory. It saves a lot of time and stress.

The local bus system (MTA) is surprisingly good if you know the routes. Download a transit app like Google Maps before you go. It's the most cost-effective option for minimizing travel stress.

Seriously, don't try to drive yourself everywhere. The traffic is brutal, and finding parking near the hotel is a huge headache. Just stick to ride-shares.

How about a day pass for public transit? I found it much cheaper than multiple Uber rides, especially if you plan to hit multiple points of interest in one day. Just check the specific routes from the Hard Rock area.

I disagree about the bus system. While it's cheap, it takes forever and the routes don't always seem optimized for tourists. Uber is reliable enough, even if it costs a bit more.

If you are going to the beach, look into the Santa Monica bus lines. They connect well with the main tourist hubs. It's a scenic ride and way better than paying for parking.

Parking at the hotel is doable if you pre-book a spot, but it's pricey. For a week, consider renting a car only for one day trip outside the city center, and use transit otherwise.

Totally agree with the bus suggestion. I used the local lines to get from the hotel to Venice Beach and it was super easy. Just walk to the nearest stop and wait. It's much less stressful than waiting for a ride-share.

For cost-effectiveness, I recommend walking as much as possible. Many attractions in Hollywood are walkable from each other, and it's free! Use ride-shares only for the long hauls to the beaches.

Are you worried about the beaches specifically? If so, the 330 bus line is usually mentioned as a good connector from the central Hollywood area towards the coast. Check the schedule first thing in the morning.

Honestly, just use Uber/Lyft for everything. The convenience outweighs the cost savings of the bus, especially when you're trying to minimize travel stress. It's worth the splurge for a week.
