I'm planning a trip to Barcelona soon and I'm really looking forward to spending some time at a casino. Specifically, I'm interested in the slot machines. Does anyone have experience with different casinos in the city? I'm not looking for the biggest names, but rather places known for having a good selection of modern slots and maybe some decent atmosphere. Any tips on which area or specific establishment offers the best slot experience without being overly touristy? I appreciate any advice on things like machine types or even local deals.

You should check out the area near Diagonal. It's less overwhelming than Las Ramblas, and there are a couple of smaller, more local spots that cater well to slot players.

Definitely check out the Casino Gran Via. It's huge, but their slot section is modern and has a massive variety of machines. It's a bit touristy, but the selection is unmatched.

The Gothic Quarter side streets are surprisingly good for atmosphere, but the slots are older. Maybe check out the area near Passeig de Gràcia instead.

I found the atmosphere great at the Casino España. It has a good mix of people and the slot machines are always up-to-date. It's a solid middle ground.

What about the smaller casinos in Eixample? They tend to have better local crowds and the machines are often newer than the ones right on the main tourist drags.

I agree with the Gran Via suggestion, but maybe skip the main floor. Go to the back corner; the modern slots are concentrated there and are much better.

Local deals are tricky. I recommend asking the floor staff directly when you arrive. Sometimes they have promotions for specific machine types that aren't advertised.

Try the Gothic Quarter side streets. They are quiet and have some hidden gems for slots. It's a bit of a walk, but worth it for the vibe.

Are you looking for video poker specifically? If so, the casinos near the port area sometimes have dedicated sections for that, which is a different experience than pure slots.

I think the best experience is actually finding a casino that isn't trying too hard to be flashy. Look for places frequented by Spanish residents rather than just tourists. That's where the best machines and atmosphere are.

I recommend checking out the Casino Barcelona. It's centrally located and has a decent, modern selection without feeling like a trap for tourists. It's a good balance.

The machines are mostly the same across the big ones. Focus more on the *type* of slot - look for video slots with progressive jackpots, they are usually the most exciting.

The area around Plaça Catalunya is busy, but the casinos there are often very high-end and have excellent, modern slot banks. Just be prepared for crowds.

I think the Casino Gran Via is your best bet for sheer volume and modern equipment. Don't worry too much about the tourist vibe; just enjoy the machines.

If you want to avoid the tourist trap feeling, try the smaller, independent bars that sometimes have a corner dedicated to machines. It's more local and much more authentic.

I was skeptical too, but the Casino España really delivered. It was clean, the staff were helpful, and the slot selection was fantastic. Highly recommend it for a first-timer.

Don't forget to check out the local language signage. If the machines are primarily in Catalan or Spanish, it usually means the clientele is more local, which is a good sign for atmosphere.

I think the Casino Barcelona is perfect. It's manageable in size, the slots are modern, and it feels like a proper local spot, not just a tourist gimmick. Have fun!
