I'm looking to upgrade my running gear and keep seeing mentions of Expekt Sport products, especially their shoe lines. I've read some mixed reviews, and I'm really unsure if they hold up well over long distances or intense training sessions. Specifically, I'm wondering about the durability of the soles and the fit for varying foot types. Has anyone here trained with them for at least six months? Any real-world feedback on performance, comfort, or if they are worth the price point would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I used them for a marathon last year. The soles held up surprisingly well, honestly.

I'd caution against them for ultra-marathons. The cushioning seems to compress too quickly, making long distances painful. Stick to established brands for that kind of mileage.

Short and sweet: Good for casual jogs only. Not for serious training.

My experience was mixed. The initial comfort level was great, but after about three months of consistent running, I noticed significant wear on the heel cup. It felt like the material degraded faster than expected, especially when running on concrete. I recommend checking out reviews specifically from runners who train on varied terrain, not just pavement. Also, make sure you size up slightly if you have wider feet, as the fit tends to be snugger than advertised.

How about the breathability? I sweat a lot.

They are okay, but the price is steep for what you get in terms of longevity. I found a much better value elsewhere.

I agree with the compression point. My feet are narrow, and they felt perfect for the first few weeks. But after about six months, the arch support started giving way, and I felt a noticeable increase in foot fatigue. Maybe they are better suited for shorter, intense interval training rather than steady long-distance running.

Definitely check out the Expekt Sport socks too. They are amazing.

Are they good for trail running?

They are decent for pavement, but the grip on wet leaves or dirt trails was non-existent. Stick to dedicated trail shoes. Don't risk an ankle roll!

I ran 50 miles a week for a year. They lasted me exactly 10 months before I had to replace them. The soles are durable, but the upper mesh started showing small tears near the toes. It's a trade-off, I guess.

Has anyone found a good alternative? I'm worried about the cost.

They are comfortable initially, but I found the fit was too restrictive over time. My feet swell when I run, and these shoes cut off circulation slightly. I switched to a brand with more room in the toe box and my overall running experience improved dramatically. Don't let the marketing fool you on the fit.

I think the durability is fine, but the overall performance boost isn't worth the premium price tag. You can find similar quality shoes for less money.

I'm curious about the weight. Are they heavy?

They are surprisingly lightweight, which is a huge plus for tempo runs. The soles are rubberized and seem very resistant to abrasion, even after several months of hard use. For the price, I feel they offer excellent performance and durability balance.
