I finally got my hands on 'Napoleons Reloaded' after seeing so many positive reviews, but I'm completely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of tactical depth. I'm stuck in the early campaigns and I'm unsure whether I should focus my initial resources on upgrading my infantry units or if I should prioritize building up my artillery support first. My current army composition feels unbalanced, and I keep getting wiped out by enemy cavalry forces, even when I think my formation is solid. Has anyone managed to progress past the initial three maps? Any tips on resource management or which unit type is truly overpowered in the current meta would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Focus on infantry first. Artillery is great, but without solid lines to defend, it's just expensive glass cannons. Save the big siege weapons for the later maps.

Dude, you have to build up your cavalry early. Seriously. The meta right now is all about flanking maneuvers, and if you can't counter their charges, you're toast. Also, check out the 'Royal Guard' unit upgrade; it's surprisingly powerful.

I found that resource management is key. Don't overcommit to one unit type. A balanced mix of skirmishers, solid infantry, and light artillery gives you the best early-game flexibility. Try to keep your resource income steady by building small resource nodes near your main base.

Agreed. The cavalry is brutal until you get the anti-cavalry formations unlocked. I started by building up a small reserve of pike units, which really helped stabilize my front lines against the early enemy charges.

Wait, are you talking about the 'Iron Brigade' formation? Because if you aren't using that, you are making a huge mistake. It completely negates the advantage of enemy cavalry formations, and it's surprisingly easy to set up even with limited resources.

Totally agree about the Iron Brigade. It's a game changer. I spent my initial resources on getting enough manpower to field three squads, and it paid off massively on map 4. You really need that formation to survive the initial onslaught.

Don't forget about morale boosts. Sometimes, a small unit of highly motivated skirmishers can break the enemy's will before you even engage in a major fight. It's a psychological warfare element that many players overlook.

I think you are right about the cavalry. If you can't afford the anti-cavalry units, maybe focus on terrain advantages. Build up defensive choke points and use the map geometry to your benefit. It forces the enemy to fight on your terms.

Just save up for the 'Artillery Command' upgrade. It lets you deploy multiple artillery pieces simultaneously, which is a massive power spike. It's worth delaying infantry upgrades for that specific goal.

The best advice I can give is to watch YouTube tutorials specifically on resource flow management. Reading forum advice is fine, but seeing the actual build order mapped out is infinitely more helpful for a beginner like yourself.
