I'm planning a big camping trip up to the Tioga area next month and I'm trying to save some money on gear. I've seen a few mentions of past promotions, but I can't find any current deals on things like tents, stoves, or backpacking packs. Does anyone know if the store or local outfitters near Tioga Downs are running any special sales right now? I'm specifically looking for deals on lightweight sleeping systems. Any advice on where to check for the best discounts would be greatly appreciated!

I checked the official Tioga Downs website, and they don't list any current gear promotions. You might have better luck checking local outfitters in Mammoth Lakes instead.

Dude, check out REI's website first. They often have regional sales that aren't advertised locally. Good luck!

I was there last month, and I didn't see any specific sales on lightweight sleeping systems. I bought everything at a big box store further away, which was a better deal overall.

Has anyone checked the local park visitor center? Sometimes they partner with small local shops for seasonal discounts.

You should definitely call the local sporting goods store and ask if they are participating in any 'buy one get one' deals for tents. It's worth the phone call.

I heard from a friend that the 'Outdoorsman Supply' in the nearby town sometimes runs flash sales on stoves. Ask them directly!

Maybe wait until you get there. Sometimes the deals are only announced on-site, like a pop-up sale.

I agree with the OP. I was hoping for a deal on a backpacking pack, but nothing was running. I ended up finding a great sale on a different site instead.

Did you check Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace for gear? People often sell lightly used, high-quality camping equipment right before peak season.

REI is usually the safest bet for sales, but remember to check their clearance sections for older models of tents and packs. Those are often heavily discounted.

I found a coupon code for a local outfitter that specializes in backpacking gear. I'll DM it to you if you want! It covers stoves and sleeping bags.

I think you need to look at consignment shops too. They might have gently used, high-end gear that is perfect for a big trip.

Yeah, I also had bad luck finding deals. I think the best time to shop is right after a major outdoor festival, when stores are clearing out inventory.

If you are focused on lightweight sleeping systems, look into brand-specific sales rather than general store sales. Brands like Nemo or Enlightened Equipment often have their own promotions.

Calling ahead is key. Ask if they have any bulk discounts if you plan on buying multiple items, like three stoves or four sleeping bags.

I recommend checking local university campus bulletin boards. Students often sell their old, high-quality camping gear at steep discounts.

The local outfitters are usually better than big box stores for specific, niche gear. They know the area and the equipment needs.

Don't forget to check out the local Facebook groups for the Tioga area. People post 'gear swaps' all the time, and you can get amazing deals.

I found a great deal on a pack last year by searching for 'Tioga Downs camping gear sale' on Google Images. Sometimes the ads link to hidden sales pages.
