I've been trying to use the advanced filtering system for my profile, but it keeps giving me an error message whenever I try to combine more than two search criteria. I remember when the site was updated last month that this was supposed to be much smoother. Has anyone else experienced this specific bug, or is it just me? I'm trying to find specific vintage items and the current search function is making it almost impossible to narrow down the results effectively. Any advice on a workaround would be greatly appreciated!

Yep, I hit that limit too.

It's definitely a bug. I tried combining 'Era' and 'Material' and it just timed out. I was hoping the update fixed this, but it seems they only addressed the UI and not the backend logic.

Try searching in two separate sessions. First, narrow by category, then use the keyword search on the resulting page. It bypassed the error for me.

Wow, this is really frustrating. I'm looking for specific Victorian lace items and I need to filter by pattern, color, AND size. The current system is making it impossible to narrow down the results effectively.

Has anyone checked the browser cache? Sometimes these new features are super sensitive to old data.

I agree with the OP. This was fine pre-update. They need to patch this ASAP.

I think it's a known issue. I saw a thread in the developer corner section suggesting a temporary workaround involving using the URL parameters directly, but I'm not sure if that's safe.

Re: The OP's post. Did you try using the mobile app instead? Sometimes the filtering logic is different on the mobile platform.

The mobile app also failed. I tried filtering by 'condition' and 'origin' and it gave me the same error message. It seems like the core filtering API is broken, not just the front end.

Just use the search bar and put all your criteria in quotes, like 'Victorian' AND 'blue' AND 'lace'. Sometimes the system interprets it better that way.

I'm going to report this directly to customer support using the ticket system. Forum advice is helpful, but a formal bug report might get faster attention.

I found that if you sort by 'Date Listed' first, and then apply your filters, it sometimes allows the third criteria to pass without error. It's a weird sequence dependency, but it works.

Does anyone know if they plan to roll out a proper fix? I've been using Gratorama for years and this change is seriously hurting my research flow.

I think the OP should check if they are using a specific browser version. I was on Chrome 120 and it worked fine for me.

Wait, I think I figured it out. If you combine criteria, you have to use the 'OR' logic for the first two, and then the 'AND' logic for the third. It's confusingly structured.

Thanks for the tip on the URL parameters. I'm going to try that immediately. I've been stuck for hours!

I'm going back to using the old search widget on the homepage. It's clunky, but at least it's predictable and doesn't crash.

This is a huge problem for serious collectors. We rely on advanced filtering to find niche items. Please, Gratorama Dev Team, fix this!

I'm going to try clearing my cookies and cache completely. Sometimes the site gets confused by stored session data.
