I've been trying to set up a persistent group chat for my book club using the emarld chat platform, but I keep running into some confusing limitations. Specifically, when we get more than five people, the attachment sharing seems to glitch, and sometimes people can't see the history from previous days. Has anyone figured out a workaround for this, or is there a specific setting I'm missing? I'd really appreciate any tips on making group chats run smoothly for a larger circle of people.

I had the same issue with attachments. It only works reliably for up to four people, period.

Are you checking if the group needs to be 'pinned' or archived? Sometimes the history view gets corrupted if the group isn't properly maintained. I found that if you manually archive and then re-create the group, it fixed our history visibility problem for weeks.

Just use email instead. It's more reliable for large groups and attachments.

I think it's a known bug with the current beta build. We were using it last month, and the glitching only started after the update pushed last Tuesday. Did you check the official emarld support forums? They might have a temporary workaround posted there.

Totally agree. The history disappearing is so frustrating. It makes coordinating difficult.

I tried clearing the app cache on my phone and logged out and back in. That fixed the attachment glitch for us immediately. It sounds like a local device issue, not a platform limitation.

Speaking of glitches, I noticed that if anyone in the group has an outdated version of the emarld app, the entire group chat starts acting weird. Make sure everyone updates their software first.

Replying to the previous post: Did you try having everyone use a desktop browser instead of the mobile app? We found that the desktop version handles large attachments and history much better than the mobile interface does. It was a massive improvement for our book club.

It's just bad coding. They need to fix it.

I'm having the same issue with history. I think the problem might be related to time zones. If people are logging in from wildly different time zones, the chat history sometimes fails to load correctly. Try setting a consistent time zone for the group chat settings.

Five people is the limit, period. Don't fight the system.

I found a workaround! Instead of one giant group chat, we created several smaller, topic-specific chats (e.g., 'Book Discussion,' 'Logistics,' 'Recommendations'). This keeps the history manageable and prevents the attachment glitches because no single chat exceeds the five-person limit. It takes more setup, but it's much smoother.

The cache clearing worked for me too. Thanks for the tip!
