I've been trying to use the 32red app for my project management tasks, and while the interface looks great, the syncing between my phone and desktop is constantly failing. Every time I make a change on one device, the other one either shows an old version or gives me a vague error message. I've tried restarting both devices and checking my internet connection, but the problem persists. Is there a known bug with the current version, or is there a specific setting I'm missing that I need to adjust? Any advice would be greatly appreciated so I can get this working reliably.

Check your firewall settings.

I had the exact same issue last month. It turned out it wasn't the app, but a conflict with my operating system's cloud backup service. I had to temporarily disable the OS sync feature to get 32red working reliably. It was incredibly frustrating, but a simple setting change fixed everything. Have you checked if any other background services are trying to sync data simultaneously? Sometimes they throw off the primary app's connection.

Did you try clearing the local cache?

My experience has been flawless since I updated the app to version 2.1. Make sure you are on the latest build available in the app store. Older versions definitely had known sync bugs that were patched out. It's a common oversight, so double-check that version number.

The API rate limits might be hit.

Reply to the original poster: Have you verified that your user permissions haven't been accidentally downgraded? Sometimes if you are working on a shared project and one admin changes your role, it can restrict your ability to write or update data, which the app interprets as a sync failure. This is a common organizational oversight, so it's worth checking with the project owner.

Just restart your router.

I found that using a VPN was actually causing the problem for me. It seemed to interfere with the secure handshake process between the devices. I had to completely disable the VPN when I was working on 32red and the syncing immediately became stable. It's weird, but it worked.

It's a known bug.

reply to user 2: I think the OS sync conflict is the most likely culprit. When I was using it, I was running both Dropbox and iCloud sync in the background, and they kept fighting with 32red for access to the local file structure. Try disabling all non-essential background sync services just for testing purposes.

Seriously, try using a different browser for the desktop version. I was using Chrome and kept getting intermittent failures, but switching to Firefox resolved the issue completely. It was a browser-specific compatibility problem, not an app bug.

reply to user 10: You might also need to check if there are any specific IP restrictions set up by your network administrator. If the network is overly secure, it might be blocking the necessary ports for the app to communicate with the 32red cloud servers. This is usually an IT department issue, not a user setting.

I just logged out and logged back into the account on all devices. That simple step forced a complete re-authentication and seems to have reset the sync pointers. It was surprisingly effective.

It's definitely a bug. Report it to support.
