I've been trying to use the PokerStars app for the last few days, and I keep running into this weird connection error right when I'm about to join a table. I've already cleared the cache and reinstalled the app multiple times, but the problem persists. Has anyone found a workaround for this, or is there a known server issue right now? I'm worried it's something with my device settings, but I've checked everything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated so I can get back to playing.

Me too. It's been happening since the last update.

Did you check if your network provider is throttling data? Sometimes, specific gaming apps get flagged by ISPs, and it manifests as a connection error right when you need stable bandwidth. Try switching from Wi-Fi to cellular data, or vice versa, just to test if the network type is the culprit. Also, make sure your Android OS is fully updated, as older versions can sometimes conflict with newer versions of the PokerStars SDK. If possible, try connecting via an ethernet adapter if your device supports it, as this bypasses local Wi-Fi issues entirely. This level of detail might help pinpoint if it's a local device limitation or a wider service issue.

This is so frustrating. I keep getting the same error code. Is it just me, or is the server really having issues today?

I think it might be a VPN issue. I was using one earlier this week and it immediately started throwing connection errors. I turned it off and everything worked perfectly. Maybe try disabling any VPNs or proxy settings you might have active on your device, even if you think they aren't necessary for gaming.

I suspect it's a conflict with a background app. Sometimes, security apps or battery optimization tools aggressively kill background processes, and PokerStars needs to maintain a constant connection to function properly. Go into your Android settings, find PokerStars, and manually disable any power-saving or background restriction features that might be enabled for that specific app. You might also want to check if any recent system updates changed how background processes are managed on your specific Android model. This is a common fix for connection stability issues.

Is it just me, or is the whole region having trouble?

Have you tried accessing the game through the dedicated desktop client instead? Sometimes the mobile app has specific compatibility issues with certain Android builds, and the web version or desktop client might offer a more stable connection path.

I noticed this error only happens around peak hours, like 7 PM to 10 PM EST. I found that if I try to join tables really early in the morning, say 6 AM, the connection is flawless. Maybe the server capacity is simply overwhelmed during high traffic periods, which is a known issue with large online gaming platforms. If you can, try playing during off-peak hours to see if the problem disappears. This suggests a server load issue rather than a local device problem.

Check your mobile data usage limits.

I think the VPN is the problem too. I had the exact same issue until I turned off my VPN. It was probably interfering with the handshake process between the app and the server. Thanks for the advice!

Before concluding it's a server issue, you should check the official PokerStars support channels or community pages. Sometimes, they post maintenance alerts or known service disruptions there before the general user base realizes it. If the error persists across multiple devices and networks, then it's much more likely to be a systemic problem on their end that requires their direct intervention. Keep an eye on their official announcements.

I checked the official status page, and they said everything was running normally. That makes me think the issue is definitely local to my phone or network setup. Maybe I need to contact their technical support directly with the specific error code I am receiving.

If nothing else works, you might have to try a full factory reset of your phone. This is a drastic step, so back up all your data first, but sometimes a clean slate is the only way to eliminate deep-seated OS conflicts that are causing the connection failures. Only do this as a last resort, though.

Try switching carriers or using a different hotspot. Sometimes the specific IP range assigned by your carrier can be blocked or flagged by the game servers, causing intermittent connection drops.

Be careful about factory resetting. You could lose access to certain data if you don't know exactly what you are doing. Maybe try just clearing the app's cache and data storage in settings first, as that is less invasive and often solves these types of persistent connection bugs.

I recommend checking the minimum required Android version for the latest PokerStars app. If your phone is running an older OS, the app might be throwing an error that presents as a connection failure. Updating the OS might be the simplest fix.

What specific Android version are you running?
